VICE PODCAST: COVID-19 FACT CHECKERS
COVID-19 was created in a Chinese laboratory by scientists gone rogue. Its spread was planned by the government. Its symptoms are actually reactions to 5G phone-mast radiation. Don’t believe any of those theories? Don’t worry. There’ll be another along in a minute – and we’re here to check the facts.
The 98 young people who make up Brent’s Blueprint Collective are teaming up with VICE to investigate and interrogate the latest coronavirus conspiracies on a new podcast series. Hosted by VENT Weekly presenter Amelia and created especially for the Brent 2020 Unlocked programme, COVID-19 Fact Checkers will invite experts and fellow Collective members to sift fact from fiction and reality from rumour – at a time when finding and trusting the truth has rarely felt more essential.
VENT, a collaboration between young people from Brent and VICE, is an audio project designed to explore the multitude of issues affecting youth today.

In this episode Amelia (Blueprint Collective Member) helps separate fact from all the fiction, talking about why we might fall for conspiracy theories in times of crisis; and Sarah Manavis (New Stateman writer) offers advice on how best to navigate Covid 19 news going forward.
These Covid-19 mini series episodes will be released intermittently over the next 11 weeks.
