Brent’s new anthem for London to premiere in Wembley

 Posted On 12 November 2019

Brent 2020 have commissioned a new anthem for London, told by Brent, celebrating the diverse, united community of the borough and the city.

The anthem will be performed at live events across the borough throughout 2020, including a special performance at the SSE Arena, Wembley, in July 2020.

Brent-born singer-songwriter Rahel Debebe–Dessalegne (Hejira) has collaborated with Young People’s Laureate for London, Momtaza Mehri, to compose the anthem, working with hundreds of young people in schools and youth centres across the borough to develop lyrics which tell Brent’s story.

An orchestral recording of the anthem will be produced by Brent Music Service and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra featuring the voices of 4,000 local schoolchildren.
